CHANGE GAME: PLAY WITH EARTH

"Change Game" is an applied game designed to disseminate the multiplicity and complexity of factors impacting the Earth's climate across sectors, including climate-related elements such as human settlements, economic and productive activities, and natural events. It is based on complex scientific data and models generated by the CMCC Foundation.

"Change Game" aims to stimulate a shift in mentality through the levers of emotion, collaboration, and the possibility of shifting perspectives: players can collaborate or compete, pursuing different but interconnected goals, stimulating collaboration and increasing emotional impact. The gamification techniques used for Change Game make it a compelling serious game without losing the educational and behavior-changing nature that underpins the project.

Type: applied game

Objective: to make research data understandable through a layered game, stimulating a shift in thinking through the levers of emotion, collaboration, and the ability to shift perspective. Players will be able to collaborate or compete, pursuing different but interconnected goals, fostering collaboration and increasing emotional impact.

The objectives focus on virtuous adaptation actions to be pursued to reduce CO2 levels within a certain timeframe, to avoid natural disasters. The game is built with Melazeta's own gamification enabler, called FairPlay.

Target: Youngsters.

Change Game is part of the selection of educational video games promoted by the IIDEA association 'Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association' in the volume "Learning with video games in the classroom: advice and practical examples for Italian teachers".
