EDGE Enhancing disabled people Greatness and Employability
The Serious Game EDGE is a digital tool supporting the inclusion of young people with intellectual and relational disabilities in the labor market: by creating and playing their own avatar, the player can experience choices, decisions, and challenges related to five different types of employment. The game's underlying gamification is enabled by FairPlay, Melazeta's proprietary framework.

The project is highly accessible, translating clear and intuitive messages into visual simplicity and interaction. Each choice impacts the final outcome: the player can experiment with different decisions in a safe environment, without fear of failure but encouraged to repeat the experience to explore all the different difficulty levels available.
The unemployment rate for people with intellectual and relational disabilities in Europe is more than double that of unemployment overall, despite legislative reforms regarding employment and non-discrimination, and financial and tax incentives for businesses.
The EDGE Project is promoted by the SIR Consortium for implementation within the framework of the European Erasmus Plus Strategic Partnership Call, in collaboration with institutions and organizations from the following countries: UK, Portugal, Greece, Austria, and Lithuania.
EDGE intends to design and test innovative approaches to promote the inclusion of young people with intellectual and relational disabilities in the labor market, leveraging win-win solutions that involve unemployed young people, businesses, and society as a whole.
